Boron in Plant Growth

Among the major elements that are classified as essential elements for plant growth and health, there are some that receive much more attention than others in their importance to the overall growth that a plant has. Boron deficiencies can make it extremely difficult for a plant to thrive and grow to its full potential.  If a plant has poor boron mobility, there will often appear necrosis in the stematic tissues of the growing region.  A rosette condition will then ensue as the result of this element deficiency.  What this essentially means is that the first signs and symptoms of a boron deficiency will begin to appear in the regions of new growth.  Leaves will start to turn yellow as well as the tips where there is new growth will start to wither away.  The fruit produced by a plant which is low in boron levels will developed as lumpy or deformed fruit.  The amount of crops that are produced will be extremely reduced if there is not enough boron there to stimulate and promote cell wall strength to uphold healthy plant growth.
